Aloha! My name is Tabo Kishimoto and I'm a vegan chef. Three days before Thanksgiving Day in 2013 I became a full pledge vegan. September 2013, a friend sent me a YouTube video, "The speech you will ever hear" by Gary Yourofsky, a nearly hour long video about having compassion for the animals, healthier food options and protecting our environment. Years ago I was a vegetarian because I love animals and against animal testing but never I understood or made the connection between farm to the supermarket, so went back to eating meat but after watching the Gary Yourofsky's video, I finally made that, "missing" connection. Another important experience I will never forget, at the mid of October 2013, as an omnivore chef I consumed so much meat and eggs on a weekly bases in bulking up my body and training hard, the results were devastating to my body. My knees, joints, hips and lower back took a beating barely being able walk to and from work. I was in a lot of pain. I decided to go on a two week vegan diet and the results were amazing, by the fourth day of my newly vegan diet, all of the pain went away. That was all the proof I needed to go 100% vegan and quickly becoming a vegan chef.
-"I do believe that the plant-based diet can reverse the signs of aging, curing most ailments, stamina and energizing the body naturally". As a long time cook and a chef since 2010, I have "veganized" all of my favorite foods that I love cooking and of course eating it! Italian, French, Japanese, Local, Vietnamese, Indian(my favorite), Korean, Thai, Mexican cuisines and more! Vegan cooking became a huge part of my life and joy and therefore I created a cooking blog site and later on YouTube(tlcvegans) sharing my favorite vegan meals and recipes for everyone to enjoy. I am still on a long wonderful journey in creating new recipes. I am also an avid photographer(Flickr, stock photo companies) exercise freak, my love for music and playing my guitar. I have three cats, "Pepper" a 13 years old handsome Maine Coon and "Kewpie" a 5 yearsold, Daisy 2 years old both female American Short Hair cutie-pie and on the weekends we would hangout in the back yard garden area getting some sun, fun, fresh air and relaxing. |
